A hangover lady looks for her lost cat, She roams through colonial nostalgia and wakes to find her both cat and her youth are dead, The past is crushed and exhausted. Is it a dream, a sign, or a premonition? Garden of Forking Dreams was a colonial performance by Mui Cheuk Yin, the modern dance ambassador for Hong Kong, in 1980s. Her choreography was based on the classic short story written by the Taiwan modernism master PAI Hsien-yung(白先勇). The intertextuality is a challenge to the Hong Kong an award-winning screenwriter and director to do adaptation on the complicated context under the new situation in Hong Kong nowadays
